The Company

This continually growing chilled manufacturer are leading the way in their competitive category supplying innovative products to the major UK retailers. They are now seeking a Development Chef to support their current and future plans.

The Role

Working with chilled and frozen products you will be devising recipes from set briefs, developing and tweaking products to make them the perfect match for customer expectations. Covering concept to launch including recipe development, benchmarking, factory trials and taste panels you’ll also be customer facing, presenting ideas to new and prospective customers. Keeping a watchful eye on costings you will be the conduit between departments, communicating progress and development at all stages and presenting both internally and externally. You will also work closely with purchasing and packaging to implement new ingredients, ensuring they fit with customer requirements and commercial parameters.

The Person

Passionate and enthusiastic with a love of food you will ideally have worked in food manufacturing before or come from a Sous Chef / Head Chef background. Degree or HND educated in a food related subject you will have good commercial acumen and well developed communication skills which enable you to present succinct ideas and findings across departments and teams at all levels. You will be well-presented and articulate, comfortable in a customer-facing role with excellent influencing skills and the ability to get customer ‘buy-in’. You’ll also be able to confidently use computers and Microsoft Office.
