They are now seeking a Packaging Development Manager / Consultant to aid them on their journey of perpetual success.
This role encompasses packaging innovation as well as setting and leading the packaging sustainability strategy for the brand.
You will expertly plan, coordinate and lead the packaging workstream for key innovation projects. You will strive for improvement in all aspects of packaging by proposing new pack formats or materials, being the pioneer for new concepts. Working cross functionally you will focus on ideation, analysing options and assessing feasibility.
You will team up with Marketing to facilitate pack consumer testing and insight generation. You will Champion the NPD process, uniting the packaging team to support product launches via factory trials and specification creation.
You will design and lead the packaging sustainability strategy working closely with key stakeholders to ensure priorities are aligned with business objectives. This will include being in tune with environmental sustainability factors that will affect packaging options. Your extensive network will help you innovate in order to keep up to date with new packing technologies and ideas on differentiation that can be built into credible opportunities for the business.
An expertise in all packaging related areas, you will boast an impressive track record of managing the development and delivery of new and innovative packaging formats within the FMCG arena (food & drink preferred).
Demonstrable experience in break-through packaging innovation, environmental packaging solutions, particularly guiding and influencing key decisions on packaging development from a sustainability perspective.
Educated to a degree level in Food Science, Materials Science or related subjects, ideally with an Institute of Packaging Diploma. Experience of concept development, rapid prototyping, awareness of consumer behaviour and the commercially process is also key. Must have experience in a senior leadership or director level position with the proven ability to engage and influence in a strategic role.
This is a 6 month contract - 3 to 4 days per week.
