The Company

This leading multi-site food manufacturer bring delicious chilled products to the UK retailers. They are now seeking a Specifications Technologist to join their small team to help ensure the continued delivery of exceptional products to the market.

Please note this role is site-based Monday-Friday.

The Role

As a key member of the company’s dedicated technical team, you’ll be responsible for:

· Compiling, issuing and managing both internal factory and external customer specifications, by amending and approving technical documentation for major retail customers on their dedicated online systems.

· Reviewing artwork and pack copy for label sign-off procedures, and making changes where necessary to ensure all elements meet the required food safety regulations.

· Assisting in the management of key supplier information, completing and submitting relevant product information packs and guaranteeing all components are completed for finished products, from process flow diagrams to shelf life (micro and organoleptic) analysis.

· Providing support to technical teams as well as product development and commercial departments within the company, responding to queries and resolving issues to help maintain the smooth running of the business.

The Person

We are looking for a food science or technology graduate who is keen to kickstart their technical food career. Ideally you will have a keen eye for detail, have a good understanding of technical processes, and knowledge of the full NPD lifecycle. Knowledge of retail online specification systems and nutritional calculations would be beneficial. A team player who can demonstrate excellent communication, your organisation and project management skills will be top tier in order to achieve success in this role.
