The Company

This is a brilliant chance to work for a British food and drinks distributor who supplies an extensive range of local and craft products to the UK market. They are now seeking an Area Supplier Manager who will strive to deliver the best results in a dynamic marketplace.

Please note this role is home-based but requires regular travel in the UK.

The Role

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be integral in resourcing, developing and managing a network of suppliers and manufacturers, working to deliver key targets for the company’s business strategy. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out regular supplier and customer visits at stores and sites across the UK to enhance profitable sales initiatives

• Liasing with customers to understand their objectives for a product, and sourcing suppliers to fit in line with these expectations

• Delivering regular presentations and hosting customer/supplier meetings

• Seeking resolution of any customer complaints or issues and ensuring they are sorted in a timely and effective manner

• Successfully achieving individual and team targets and KPI’s

The Person

Suit a confident and tenacious Supplier Manager with experience within the food manufacturing or retail industry, ideally within the bakery sector. A comprehensive knowledge of Sales and Operations is essential along with experience managing suppliers, preferably from a buying background.

Commercially minded with an innovative approach, you will be confident with great presentation and negotiation skills. You are a clear communicator with strong financial acumen who can adapt their style and approach to connect with a range of personalities to achieve results and move the business forward.

You will have experience dealing with cross-functional teams, demonstrating your effective organisation and communication skills to influence change and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ideally, you have a good knowledge of bakery manufacturing and distribution and will be able to bring a wealth of skills and knowledge to this growing business.
