The Company

We are working with an ambitious & vibrant business who love to be on trend with their fresh & healthy food offerings.  They are still growing and need a bright and enthusiastic Technical Manager to help drive the delivery of the highest quality products for their discerning customers.

The Role

Reporting to the MD you’ll be working as part of a small but highly capable team to ensure all products are produced to the highest levels of quality, safety and legality. This will include overseeing the factory quality team alongside supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Technical and Quality Standards across the site. You’ll work closely with Operations to ensure the smooth day to day running of the factory, guaranteeing non-conformances and food safety risks are resolved quickly, effectively and with integrity.

You’ll be managing and co-ordinating complaint investigation and audit procedures, liaising with key customer contacts and working in partnership with them to analyse, resolve and prevent technical issues. Additionally you’ll lead your team to promote a ‘right first time’ culture across the factory through the effective implementation of robust QA systems, in line with the latest quality legislation whilst providing opportunities for training and development.

The factory’s next step is gaining their BRC Accreditation, and to help them achieve this you will be tasked with managing systems, procedures and processes; looking to achieve excellence so that their audit can be passed with flying colours.

The Person

Suit an exceptional Quality or Technical Manager with well-rounded experience gained within a complex chilled manufacturing environment. It is essential that you have experience managing and implementing HACCP and BRC standards with a successful track record of achieving excellence.

As well as being ambitious and driven to succeed, you must have excellent technical knowledge with a strong understanding of quality assurance requirements. To really thrive in the role you must have amazing interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels, especially with the operations team as this role will involve a lot of time in the factory.  You must also relish the challenge of working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment with the agility to manage change, spot new opportunities and grow with the business.
