Driven by the ever-changing needs of their customers, our client is a global supplier of household and health & beauty products. They are now seeking a Technical Manager to work closely with the customer and NPD team to deliver successful new products, ensuring all key technical elements of a project are diligently completed. This is a head office role with flexible or remote working.
In this fast paced role you will take responsibility for the technical aspects of Health & Beauty, Household and Biocidal product category, applying your expertise in the compliance and launch of products.
This will involve working with manufacturing suppliers as well as internal teams to deliver products that are consistently high quality with a competitive edge. You’ll play a key part in the management of product quality and performance through maintaining accurate supplier information, ensuring clearly defined specifications and quality requirements are adhered to throughout the innovations process. Checking product artwork, packaging and labelling for compliance with relevant regional legislation will be part of your remit too. You’ll be the single point of contact for customer technical managers.
As the product champion for the business you will work cross functionally to promote technical excellence throughout the company, ensuring quality and safety measures are adhered to. With your keen eye for detail coupled with your industry know-how you’ll obsessively follow up and resolve any complaints or issues.
The role will also involve some travel to attend factory trials, pre-production, product launches and to meet with customers.
We are looking for a proactive and confident Senior Technologist / Technical Manager with experience in a similar role within health, beauty or household product categories for a manufacturing, branded or retail business.
Ideally you will have a Science or Chemistry degree with good working knowledge of product development, technical and quality standards. Good working knowledge of QMS, HACCP, BRC and retailer codes of practice is also required.
Outstanding communication, influencing and relationship building skills are essential as you’ll be liaising with customers, internal teams as well as suppliers on a regular basis, working with them to produce and deliver amazing product ranges.
