The Company

This is a brilliant chance to work for a premium food business supplying an extensive range of products for the food retail and manufacturing industry. They are currently seeking a confident and dynamic Shift Technical Manager to help maintain their great reputation within the market place.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Technical Lead, you’ll ensure all products are produced to the highest levels of quality, safety and legality. You’ll be accountable for the technical and QA activities within the factory during the shift with responsibility for delivering the technical agenda, supported by a highly effective QA team. You’ll work closely with Operations & Hygiene to ensure the smooth day to day running of the factory, guaranteeing non-conformances and food safety risks are resolved quickly, effectively and with integrity.

You’ll be managing and co-ordinating complaint investigation and audit procedures, liaising with key customer contacts and working in partnership with them to analyse, resolve and prevent technical issues. Additionally you’ll lead your team to promote a ‘right first time’ culture across the factory, ensuring the business stays legal and compliant with the product but also food safety systems and ways of working.

The Person

We’re looking for a bright, capable and driven Technical Manager/ QA Manager with superb interpersonal skills. Ideally with a food science / technology degree and a wealth of technical experience from food manufacturing environment.

Of course the usual HACCP, BRC, auditing and quality management systems experience is essential but we need a technical manager with a real passion for food and processes. Someone who can embrace new product areas, gets excited about technical innovation and new ingredients.

Driving License is essential due to the factory location.
