The Company

This ambitious and entrepreneurial business take pride in their delicious range of products, and are now looking for a talented Senior Development Technologist, on a fixed term contract, who is super foodie and enjoys working in an innovative and fast-moving category to join their team.

Please note there will be some travel to customers, their sister site and suppliers, so a car and driving licence is required. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior NPD Manager, you will work as part of a multi-site Food Innovation Team to create new products for a range of customers, managing briefs from concept through to launch.

A hands-on role, you will be key in running factory trails whilst project managing to drive the NPD pipeline, ensuring you bring the food agenda to life. You’ll liaise closely with customers, presenting ideas and developing solid working relationships to guarantee briefs are met and launches are successful. You will also ensure feasibility and commercial viability when developing new concepts.

You will carry out market research and be able to use insights on consumers, food trends, and competitors to ensure your new products are at the forefront of innovation.

The Person

We are seeking an ambitious, creative and hands on Product Developer / NPD Technologist who can jump into this fast-paced, customer focused role and add some foodie sparkle to the team. This is a broad role where you will be involved in every facet of new product development. If you have a process-driven mindset and the ability to get stuck in with factory trials, this would be a real strength.

You will have an exceptional understanding of food trends, ingredients, and seasonality which you can use to revamp recipes as well as conjure up new delights. Experience within the chilled food sector (ideally food to go) is essential as you will need to have good knowledge of the NPD process, recipe development, critical path management and creating commercially viable products. You must have excellent communication and organisation skills coupled with the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and get started on new projects.

If you have a real passion for food and thrive on the hustle and bustle of a busy environment with lots of customer contact, then this could be the role for you! Apply now or call 0345 2600 737 for a confidential chat.
