This well-established and innovative food manufacturer produce high-quality chilled products for the major retailers. This business prides itself on delivering excellence and staying at the forefront of food innovation. To help the technical team get exciting new launches over the line, they are seeking a seasoned Specification Technologist to join their technical team on a 3 Month FTC.

Please note this is a hybrid role with 3 days on site.

The Role

As a Specification Technologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all customer specifications, pack copies, and artwork are accurately set up and maintained, while ensuring compliance with food safety legislation and customer policies. You will support the technical and NPD teams in delivering smooth product launches and maintaining ongoing technical documentation in line with critical path timelines.

Key responsibilities include:

· Setting up and maintaining customer specifications on customer portals and online systems, ensuring compliance with customer codes of practice and current labelling standards

· Reviewing and approving pack copy and artwork to ensure accuracy, technical integrity, and adherence to legal requirements

· Working cross-functionally with internal departments such as NPD, process, supply chain, and commercial, as well as engaging with customers and suppliers to deliver accurate, timely information

· Ensuring all regulatory and customer technical changes are reflected promptly in back-of-pack data and technical documentation

· Supporting technical teams in issuing product information packs

· Maintaining clear records and archives of specifications and associated technical data.

The Person

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who has extensive experience writing and managing product specifications, ideally for major retail customers.

You’ll be confident, organised, and assertive with a collaborative approach to problem solving. A passion for delivering accurate and compliant information, coupled with a drive for continuous improvement, will be key to your success.
