The Company

This market leading brand are renowned for the quality of their products and loved by consumers across the world. In order to drive commercial growth they are looking for a new addition to their innovations team with a talented NPD Manager who can help create products with a competitive edge.

The Role

This is a multifaceted role where you will lead and manage the core NPD applications team to oversee the development and delivery of great tasting new products from concept through to factory implementation.

A key part of the role will be leading the development of product development processes for aspects such as new ingredient sourcing, lab testing and factory trials.

There will be a lot of internal collaboration which includes working with marketing to ensure clear concept briefs are created and delivered against. Your team will include the sensory panel which you will use to ensure new products delight consumers.

You will also work with internal stakeholders such as raw material sourcing, quality, ethical and regulatory teams to ensure ingredients and products meet quality and commercial considerations.

The Person

We’re looking for an NPD / R&D Manager with experience in a similar role within the food / drinks / FMCG sector. Ideally you will be educated to at least degree level, in a scientific discipline but with a preference for Food Science or Technology.

Experience of laboratory or development kitchen leadership with proven skills in creating and implementing good laboratory practices and overseeing factory production trials is essential. It would be great if you have experience of setting up and leading sensory panels as well.

You will be a natural communicator and motivational leader with an ability to effectively manage and influence key stakeholders in order to deliver new products to market without neglecting consumer appeal, quality and safety standards.

Managing and shaping teams to perform is a skill that is well honed from previous roles and you will be highly adept at understanding the culture and values of a business in order to make the right recommendations that will help drive the business forward.
