Please note this is a hybrid position with 3 days based in Central London, therefore we are considering candidates who are within a commutable distance, are willing to travel into London weekly, or will relocate.
Reporting into the Regulations Manager, this is a varied and rewarding role, which will give you the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge of food from a regulatory and policy perspective. You will be responsible for:
Monitoring and analysing relevant scientific, technical and regulatory developments across the UK and EU within a specific given sector
Providing Secretariat support for committees, both technical and Board level, including preparing agendas, papers and minutes
Providing written summaries of regulatory changes and verbal updates to companies, colleagues and sector trade bodies
Taking and translating specific topic information into actionable steps
Supporting and leading on individual policy areas and projects

This role would suit a food science graduate, with UK or EU food industry experience within a regulatory role. This is a unique and niche position that requires a deep understanding of food safety, microbiology and regulatory issues. Experience liaising with trade associations, regulatory authorities or government bodies is also highly advantageous.
You’ll be a clear and personable communicator, at ease with speaking to external and internal stakeholders and all levels. A keen eye for detail will be critical in producing accurate written summaries of technical and regulatory information, allowing you to work across a variety of different policy areas and managing multiple deadlines.
